The 1099-NEC process isn't working. When I enter my 1099-NEC info, it brings me to a screen saying info is missing, but all is completed.

I've entered it on the Schedule C page so it is connected to the proper Schedule C but it doesn't like it. There are only 3 fields to be entered. Something seems to be wrong.

What information is missing according to the error message?

To resolve the issue, delete the 1099-NEC and reenter it.  You can do this using these steps:

  1. In your return, click Income and Expenses and then click the Start/Revisit box in the Self-Employment section.
  2. On the Your 2020 self-employed work summary screen, click on Edit next to your business.
  3. On the screen Here's your [XX] info, in the Income section, delete the 1099-NEC by clicking on the "trash can" next to it.
  4. To add the 1099-NEC click on the box Add income for this work
  5. On the Let's enter the income for your [XX] work, mark the radio button next to Form 1099-NEC
and click Continue at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Enter the information from the 1099-NEC on the next screen.

The message doesn't indicate what field might be missing. I've deleted it and re-entered many times using the process you described. Every time the same result. The message is "One of your 1099-NEC forms doesn't include enough info for us to know where to report the income on your return. We recommend jumping to the Form 1099-NEC topic to finish answering all the questions for the form that is missing info."

As noted, I've entered it on the Schedule C, the same page where all the expenses are entered.

Thanks.

contacting customer service online gets you a stupid/dumb robot.  trying to report 1099-NEC issues, your program is missing info/entries after box 2 so my income is not entered...  robot says 'Sorry, but I can't get you in touch with the right person to help you with this until you finish selecting a TurboTax product and begin working on your return' AND 'Otherwise, you can feel free to ask me another question or ask the TurboTax Community for immediate help.'

How helpful is that!!!  you get run arounds not a live person.  waste of my time to fix a problem that you guys have.

Type '1099-nec' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1099-nec'.

On the 1099-NEC entry screen, check the box that says 'My form has other info in boxes 4-7' (screenshot) to get the other boxes to open up.
