I have used your service several times, but this year Fidelity wont import to intuit and you have NO ONE to help without charging me? This may be the end for me....
I think I can shed some light on this. I imported my 1099 from etrade on Monday and it was wrong. Then I tried again early Tuesday -- still way, way wrong.
Then I tried again late Tuesday and they said not available until Thursday. I assume they realized their download was working incorrectly and need two days to fix it. (Anyway, this is my hope.)
Product support told me that Turbo tax is not intended to do everything for you -- LOL. I will not use it again.
Actually turbo tax can't download 1099 from almost any bank, or brokerage company.
If you are unable to import your brokerage information, you can still enter it manually.
Here's where you enter your 1099-B in TurboTax:
Turbo tax can't download 1099 from almost any bank, or brokerage company!
When can you fix this???
Make sure you're using the proper login on the import page and that you have a working internet connection. A wired connection, if available, may be more stable than wireless.
Finally, if you're still not able to import your 1099, you can always enter it manually. Select I'll type it in myself or Skip Import and proceed. Make sure you keep hard copies of your documents if ever get asked to produce by the IRS.
Hi,
I can import one Fidelity with over 1,000 1099B transactions.
Now I'm trying to import my primary account but the response states that there is no tax-related info to import at this time. This is not correct. Obviously, I have the Fidelity tax form.
It would be impossible for me to enter manually over 1,000's transactions for my 1099B.
Help?
If you have a physical copy of your 1099B, you can summarize your transactions in turbo Tax instead adding one sale at a time. After your summary transactions are reported, you can electronically file but turbo Tax will instruct you to print out form 8453, which will be part of your return. You will send in an 8453 plus a copy of your Schedule B in accordance to the mailing and filing instructions Turbo Tax will provide to you.
Can't import 1099 from Fidelity into TT
It depends.
In order to be able to import your information, your Fidelity brokerage needs to be a TurboTax Import Partner.
I have attached a link to those who have partnered with TurboTax. Please review the name on your 1099-B to the name listed in the link below to confirm whether or not the 1099-B can be imported.
Once you confirm if they are a partner, you will enter the information in the federal interview section.
See the following link for additional support from TurboTax.
It appears you overlooked the issues where people said your import procedure doesn't work.
