i filed my return on Feb 3 , my state approved Feb 4 , Federal approved Feb 3 . All i saw on turbo tax , my return date was Feb 25 2024 . I received my state on Feb 14 2024. I waited until March 3rd i heard it was their deadline for ETC and child credit. now it’s march 13 , i called the IRS March 4 2024 , she told me very rudely , that i was selected for a random tax review they requested 45 days from the day i called. She didn’t see anything wrong or concerning on my part she said it was a random pick. If i don’t see any changes in my return status by 45 days which i counted would be April 24 2024 then i should call them back and keep checking my status . i just want to know will i receive my refund in my 45 days. I’ve never had this problem before. My son birthday is coming up in June i just need know if i haven’t received a letter or anything . My status said unavailable. my mom said hers did too up until the day she got hers it was late as well. just concerned , worried , and confused

TurboTax tells you that your e-file was "accepted"----TT never says it was "approved." Accepted and Approved have two different meanings.
“Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
The IRS can choose returns randomly for review, which can delay your refund. TurboTax will not get any information about that. You can continue to watch the IRS refund site for information. If the IRS wants any additional information from you, they will send you a letter to request it. Meanwhile, you just have to wait for the IRS to finish their review and finish processing your return.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
