I am British we live in UK. My US husband died March 2024 and I now receive survivors pension. Do I have to submit a US tax return? I have not received a 1099 form

If it wasn't US taxable before, it won't be now. Many items are taxed by the resident country under the US- United Kingdom treaty. See article 17.
If you do need to file, it would be the nonresident form, 1040NR. It is available at Sprintax. They have great support for non- US citizens.
My husband always submitted a joint tax return because I get a small social security payment. (based on his credits). I have always received a 1099 for each year, including 2024. I don't understand why I didn't receive one for Dep of Defence for my survivor's pension that started in April 2024. I also have 1099s in my husbands name for the 3 months that he was paid before he died. Do I have to submit his to IRS? Thank you for your help
You should prepare a final tax return to report the income of your spouse if he would have been required to file one based on his income in 2024. You can use this IRS tool to determine if he needed to file a return.
I am sorry for your loss.
