My tax expert is telling me my taxes can't be filed until the middle of February because I'm eligible for the additional child tax credit is this accurate?

Oh----yes, that makes sense. There are a lot of federal and state forms that are not yet ready.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.
No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.
You may have misunderstood what they meant. The IRS is not accepting 2023 returns until January 29. If you are getting the refundable child tax credit or earned income credit, the IRS will hold your refund until the middle of February even if you file before then. Realistically, the soonest you could receive your 2023 refund would be late February.
No my tax expert told me that she can't finish my tax return yet because tax form 8812 which is for the additional child tax credit isn't available until the middle of February.
Here is why they hold your refund----the PATH act.
I know why I wouldn't get my refund until the middle to end of February. I'm trying to find out why my tax expert is telling me I can't file my taxes yet with the additional child tax credit form 8812 because according to her it's not available yet.

Maybe the Tax Expert misunderstood something because the Schedule 8812 is available for e-filing in the TurboTax programs.
Great thank you that actually makes sense and thank you for posting the form tracker as well.
