Do I file exempt 1 or 0?

The new Form W4 is different. You need to complete steps 1 and 5 of the Form W4 and complete Steps 2, 3 and 4 only if required.

I don’t have any dependent. should I put 1 or 0 on lines 1 and 5??

You need to fill up your personal information on step 1 and sign on step 5.

Fill up step 2 only if you Multiple jobs or spouse (if any) works or skip it if doesn't applies to you.

You can skip Step 3 as you have no dependents.

And complete Step 4 only if you have other income. 

So you don't need to put 1 or 0, like in prior year's W2.
