I currently have unearned income through the VA. I had a son in February 2022.
I do not receive any support and neither of us our anyone else's dependents.
Do I Qualify to file a tax return and if so please advise.

Hi @Lynnscott491 ,
Congrats on the birth of your son!
Though disability benefits you receive from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are not Federally taxable, I recommend that you file a tax return for tax year 2022 to see if your son qualifies as a dependent. Good news is that if your son qualifies, you could receive a Child Tax Credit (currently 2K for 2022) and may qualify for other credits. More information on rules for claiming a dependent on your tax return can be found here: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/family/rules-for-claiming-a-dependent-on-your-tax-return/L8LODb...
