tax exempt dividends

I imported my info from a Brokerage, broke out my tax exempt municipal bond fund dividends into my home state and several or more than one state, but on my state return, it adds back not only the amount not from my home state but also the total amount of the dividends. I have tried numerous times to delete, re-down load this, etc., but I can't get it right. I imagine it is how I entered it on the Federal, but I cannot figure it out.

I think the problem was I did the Federal part properly, but in answer to a prompt or question on the state portion, i entered the total amount of my tax exempt dividend income in a place I was not supposed to. I took it out, and the issue seemed to resolve.
