Tax conundrum

Hi,

My wife and I have had a fairly nightmarish experience with an accountant....

Long story short,

After being pretty happy with her for a few years, our accountant weirded out, kind of disappeared, and we recently found out she did not file Federal or state returns for 2018.

(I have never had anything like this happen)

We got her to finally step up and make it right last week....Paid a penalty and interest to the state.

The reason I am here now...is that I went ahead and re-bought TurboTax for 2019, as I'm pretty sure I don't want to use our accountant again.

I filled everything out and when I e-filed, I got a rejection notice about the amount on line 7 (1040) not matching my 2018 return.

The prodigal accountant, e-filed both our sets of taxes, got a receipt of acceptance and sent us all of the forms.

I copied the amount from line 7 to verify with the IRS.

Why was I rejected and what do you suggest?

Thanks for any ideas.

Since 2018 was not file on time or by October then use 0 for the AGI.  If that doesn't work you will have to print and mail it.
