System won’t allow me to fix numbers

The best practice is to go back to the original entries. Start from the left menu and select Federal.

From there, you can navigate to the areas you know need fixing. If your return was rejected or not filed yet, you can update any of these areas.

I fixed an amount in the original form and re-processed my report.  However an updated amount was not counted.
