I recieved a 1099-K from Red Week for income from renting my timeshare. I completed the data entry but when I submit my taxes it brings me to a page that says
Form 1099-K: A link to schedule C or another source for the amount reported in box 1 must be selected. To associate this amount with an activity on Schedule C, D, E, F or form 4825, double click on the field provided. Otherwise check the box that applies to this income that applies to this amount.
The problem is the entire form is greyed out. Only the box for schedule C is white but 1) I believe this belongs in schedule E and 2) no matter what I enter in C, it keeps taking me to this page to review.
Can anyone help?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Delete the 1099-K and enter the income directly within the Schedule E section. This will associate the income with rental income and clear this error.
Thank you! Have a good night!
