Hello! I filed my taxes back in January along with the stimulus checks that I did not receive last year. I’ve only received my state and federal return and when I go onto the IRS website to track my stimulus checks, it says there is nothing to track. Does anyone know if I’ll be receiving those checks and has this happened to anyone else?

If you filed for the Recovery Rebate Payment on your tax return, it will be included as your tax refund. You will not check on the IRS website for the Stimulus payments, but with your regular refund.

If your return is fully processed and you believe you did not complete the stimulus section, then you can amend your tax return. TurboTax will have this available March 25th. It is filed on Form 1040X. This is a normal timeframe based on the late start to the e-file by IRS this year.

Steps to amend my 2020 return

In TurboTax Online, to claim the Recovery Rebate credit please do the following:

Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
On the next page titled Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount, click on Continue
Follow the interview
TurboTax will determine whether you are entitled to any additional stimulus
Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your form 1040.
