That shouldn't affect filing a return. When you answer that you purchased a home in the initial interview section, it prompts the program to ask you about such things as real estate taxes and home mortgage interest to help you complete your return. Just go past any of those questions, and answer "no" if you need to. Your return will still be prepared accurately.
