State Taxes NM : Not Qualified because you are an inmate

For New Mexico State Taxes, it's stating for the rebates and credits that i'm an inmate, even though I selected that I was not an inmate during the selection process (Checkbox is NOT selected during questioning).

While this hasn't been verified as an issue, here are the steps you can take to address your issue:

  1. Open your New Mexico return in TurboTax Desktop.
  2. Click on Forms in the blue banner at the top right of the screen.
  3. Go down to New Mexico on the left-hand side.
  4. Scroll down to Form PIT-RC
  5. Under Qualifications for Rebates and Credits Smart Worksheet, click No for the question, Were you an inmate of a public institution for more than six months in 2023?
  6. Click Step-by-Step in the blue banner at the top right of the screen.
  7. Continue through your return.

Thank you Lena for the reply.

Ok, i'll go ahead and move forward with the step-by-step process.  I was just concerned that this was going to affect my return negativity if I were to ignore this message.

Also, to confirm that it's not working correctly, here's my form with the check boxes checked yet it's saying i'm an inmate.
