Why do you advertise one free state filing and then charge $24.99 for e-filing state returns?

For desktop software --- you get the software to PREPARE the state return. E-filing it is an extra fee that can be avoided if you print, sign and mail the state return instead of e-filing it.

Using the TurboTax Deluxe desktop CD/Download edition or higher you receive one free state program download included in the purchase price. Not one free state tax return e-file.

The current charge of $24.99 is for each state tax return e-filed. This charge can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.
