Hello,
We received a letter from the State Department of Revenue in February 2022 regarding our 2021 filing.
They made corrections to our tax returns which resulted in additional tax due.
We had multiple W-2's and I forgot to enter one of them. woops!
The missed W-2 income was $2595.00
So we paid an additional $165.00
My question is:
How do I change last years AGI to reflect what the corrected AGI is?
Do I need to make any changes at all?
Thank you so much!

The AGI entry is as the 2020 return was first filed.
do not change the AGI on the 2021 return, at least until you e file 2022 in 2023 is filed and accepted
changing beforehand will result in rejection
You do not need to make any changes with the state revenue department. Just make a note so next year you will be able to include the taxes paid as an itemized deduction. BUT you will need to file an amended Federal Return in you forgot the same information on your federal return.
Hello again,
So at this time we don't need to change anything?
Do you recommend we amend our 2020 federal return?
Strange that we didn't receive any letter from federal regarding the missing W2.
Thank you for you response!
The information provided by @tucker @Mike9241 and @ee-ea is good information.
In your last response, you asked Do you recommend we amend our 2020 federal return? Yes, you should amend your 2021 tax return. Just want to point out that your question is asking about your 2020 return. But your previous posts refer to 2021. I assume we are talking about the 2021 tax return.
if you forgot to report a W-2 on your 2021 tax return you need to amend it to add the additional W-2. NOTE: Do not amend the federal return until you have received your refund from the IRS. It is possible that the IRS will also catch the missing W-2 also and will send a letter about additional tax due or adjustment to your refund.
