Starting my '26 return. TT thinks I own a small business. I don't and never have, but it won't let me start over. How do I clear that hurdle and move forward?

Are you self-employed? Did you enter income reported on a 1099NEC? If not, what kind of income are you entering?

And.....you are not starting a 2026 tax return. The current online software is for tax year 2025---the tax year that will end on December 31, and for which you will be able to file a return in early 2026. This will be your 2025 tax return.
