How do I verify that TT has credited me with the $600 charitable deduction when I am taking the standard deduction?

Look at your tax return Form 1040 Line 12b.  If there is an amount entered on that line then the cash charitable donation was entered and is added to your Standard Deduction.

You can preview your return to confirm if you received the $600 charitable deduction.

To preview your return, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Tax Home from Left Side Menu.
  2. Click on Personal Info from the main screen and then click on Review/Edit.
  3. You should then see additional options on the left side menu. One of the options would be Tax tools. Click on it and then click on Tools.
  4. Then there will be an option for View Tax Summary. Click on it and you would see additional options on the Left side Menu. One of the options will be Preview my 1040. Click on that.
  5. Then you can see a preview of your tax return on the main screen. Scroll down till you see Line 12b. It should state "Charitable contributions if you take the standard deduction". You should see $600 next to it.

Additionally, if you have already paid for the product, then simple follow till Step 3 as mentioned above. Click on Tax Tools and you should see an option for Print Center. You can then save your return and look at Line 12b and verify the amount.
