You could deduct the total amount (in one sum) as Contract Labor or Labor.

Thanks. I figured that. I received a lump sum payment of $6650. I paid out 15 checks which totaled $5725 and I have copies of the cancelled checks.

Since no one was paid over $600 you don't need to issue Form 1099s either so you are good to go. Let us know if you have any other questions.
