Should I have received a w2 from NYS unemployment?
Hello cbhay99,
For NYS unemployment you should have received a 1099G. If you need a copy of your 1099G, you can view and print your 1099G for calendar year 2013 on the NYS Department of Labor website.
Log in with your NY.GOV ID, then click on Unemployment Services and View/Print your 1099G. You can also request a copy by completing and mailing the Request for 1099G form.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax!

No. You should have received a 1099-G with the amount paid to you reported in box 1 *IF* the state of NY was the entity that actually paid the compensation. Sometimes a state will not send the actual form, but will send a "letter is lieu" of the actual form itself that will contain all the information from the actual 1099-G form you need to correctly report it.

Many states no longer mail you the 1099-G form, but rather expect you to pull it from the state's unemployment comp website.
