Self-employed SDI tax

Are California self-employed SDI taxes automatically withheld along with social security and medicare? I don't see a line item on past tax returns?

No you don't pay CA SDI on self employment. Only if you pay employees on a W2. Then it is part of schedule C payroll expense.
