Sale of mineral rights. Capital gains or regular income?

We sold property that had mineral rights on it.  Value when we received the property in 2013 was $14, 916 and we sold it for $17,979 for a profit of $3,063.  Does this profit go under capital gains Schedule D or under a different form?

The profit will flow to the schedule D for capital gains treatment. Enter in the Investment section under Stock, Mutual Funds, Bonds and Other.
