Residency question

I have lived and worked abroad since September 2015, but my contract and visa end in May. Do I need to declare a foreign residency?  I still consider Arizona my state of residence for all matters in the US (voting, etc) and my permanent address. I do also have an address abroad.

I'm assuming you are a U.S. citizen or resident and are asking about the state residency... Yes - if you lived abroad for 2016, you can choose Foreign/U.S. Possession in (Personal Info section) as your state residence and file a nonresident tax return if you are required to file. The visa status is not relevant; the address is not either as it is used for correspondence purposes.
