So, those of you AFTER receiving the email in which I received as well gotten your refund…was it federal or was it your state? Wanted to know for my clarification so I’ll know what to look out for? Thanks so much for any help or advice you all would to give me 🙏🏾❤️🫶🏽🤞🏾
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You will initially receive an email stating that your return has been submitted.
You will receive a second email that will let you know that your Federal Return was accepted or rejected.
You will receive a third email, if you e-filed your state return as well, letting you know if your state return was accepted or rejected.
If you are using TurboTax Online you can see the status of your return by clicking on "Tax Home" in the left side of your screen.
If you used TurboTax Desktop, you will select the "File" tab in the (gray) bar across your screen and then select "Check E-File Status"
You can also use TurboTax's Where's My Refund tracking tool to help you find the status of your refund.
After you are informed your federal return has been accepted, you can start tracking your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.

Hello!
While I do appreciate your feedback regarding my question but your answer was not what I was looking for. What I stated was did the email everyone received for TurboTax was it for federal or for state? I had received my state refund two AFTER I received that email so I took it that it was meant for state.
Now for federal I understand I falls under the “PATH” message but I never get that message on WMR I always just get my refund later in the month. But however, I do appreciate you for even replying to my question.
Have a blessed and wonderful day! 🫶🏽🙏🏾
If you received the "your refund is on its way" email, this refers to both federal and any applicable states. It doesn't indicate any specific knowledge of the refund processing, however, and is intended to mean only that it is in process at the taxing authorities to get your refund in motion.
To check specifically on the status of your refunds, follow the directions Linda gives above for federal or check with your state(s) HERE.

Thank you! I’m well aware of the refund timing and the process of how long it’ll be I’m not really focusing on that. Like I stated in my last comment, I had already received my state refund and now I’m just waiting patiently awaiting for federal refund.
