Hi,
I received a W2C for the Tax Year 2019 from my prev employer in the year Jan 2023.
However I mistakenly forgot to file it.
What are my next steps ?
1) Whats the normal Process to file a w2c for a Previous Tax year ( almost 3 years back in this case)?
2) I spoke with Turbo Tax experts and they mentioned that I need to Amend my 2019 Taxes. But since its more that 3 years, I cannot and should not worry about it. Is this a true statement ?
3) What are my options ?
4) Now my prev employer is asking me to send the form 4669 to make sure I filed my w2C.

What did the employer change? The change might be something that does not even matter on a tax return. Explain what is different on the W-2C from the original W-2.
The only way to handle this is by filing an amended tax return for 2019. This can’t be handled on any other tax return. Although it is too late to be paid a refund, if one would have been due, it is not too late to file an amended return to get the correct information on the record. TurboTax no longer supports 2019, so you would have to prepare the return manually using the 2019 forms and instructions from the IRS website, or see a professional.
it might help us to know what was changed to give you further suggestions.
Its a change to my compensation. My salary component increased in amount.
If the amount of income you received was changed, then you must amend the return. You cannot use TurboTax for that, since you waited too long. 2019 software is no longer supported. You can get the 1040X form from the IRS and prepare it by hand or seek professional paid tax help.
