Won't accept the hyphen when writing my name on card

I dont live in the US anymore, so I'm trying to pay for the Turbotax services with my US card.

I have to put my last name without the hyphen because it just accepts letters and numbers, so whatever I put there won't match with what the bank has (last name with hyphen).

I can't make the payment.

Please help me with this issue so I can make the payment.

Have you tried just using a space in place of the hyphen in your last name?

Try to enter it as:

  • In the first name block enter first name [space] second name
  • Then enter only the last part of your name in Last Name

How about you just tell your lazy programmers to use an updated frontend framework that doesn't flag hyphenated last names?  It's not a database issue and a regex (ask your programmer) query can allow for that particular special character. It is sql safe and besides, if your programmers are not sanitizing their inputs you should fire them all anyway.  IT'S 2021 and people have been hyphenating their last names enmasse since at least the 1990's.

Second that last message. It's ridiculous that you are making filing taxes more stressful for people with hyphenated last names by not accepting our actual names in your form. There is no good programming reason for this. It is simple to change your validation parameters so that the last name field accepts hyphens. It' incredibly disrespectful and without compassion that you have continued to make the decision to not prioritize accepting people's actual name in one of the most stressful experiences of our lives. I expect more from a product I pay for and have supported for 6 years. Shame on you.
