Just out of curiosity, what are your plans for the 2026 tax year (software to be released later this year) if all of the other DIY tax prep providers require Windows 11?
Good one. Please share your crystal ball with everyone.

What on earth are you talking about? Do you think Microsoft is going to support Windows 10 forever?
They've already indicated ESU ends in October of this year. Do you suppose income tax prep software developers are going to support an OS that is no longer receiving even security updates?
FYI. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC version gets free updates thru January 2032. Even Pro has the option of purchasing updates for 3 additional years from this past October. So, you now can understand, windows will still get free or paid for security updates. So its not simply "windows is expired and no longer supported"

2021 (21H2)
all this is low revenue for Intuit, they've moved on...

Windows 10 is not fully supported; it is only receiving security updates.
Now can YOU understand that security updates, alone, do not constitute FULL support?
FYI, I have a circa 8-year old mesh system with a router and 3 satellites. The system has not been supported for years by Netgear yet Netgear just released a security update a couple of days ago. Doesn't mean anything; the system is deprecated.
What updates other than Security are required? Bug fixes? Bugs never end
Bug fixes but also adding features and removing problematic or unused features.
SO FAR best I can tell, H&R Block Tax software for 2025 DOES RUN ON WINDOWS 10...I'm switching too, since Turbo Tax won't budge on this one...

Yes, it does (as has been mentioned NUMEROUS times on this board).
However, it remains to be seen as far as how long it will run on Windows 10. I suppose will know that when the extended (security) support ends this October.
If YOU THINK switching to Windows 11 just so you can give Intuit $70.00 is a SMART THING, then you can go right ahead and think that! When you can explain to me how Windows 11 makes things better, then I'll explain my logic to you! In the mean time, the Windows 10 computer I have (That for SOME REASON will not upgrade to Windows 11) means I'd have to go out and buy a NEW COMPUTER just to run THEIR SOFTWARE!!
NOPE! NO THANKS!!

You MISSED the point. If your machine won't run Windows 11, you are going to have to buy a new Windows machine at some point anyway (either that or go with a Mac). There will come a point where you will be locked out of software that you want to run that will require Windows 11.
