Why is form 8839 not available?

Did you call them? I called and and spoke to a customer service agent and was told they refunded my money, but that it'd take 2-3 weeks for the refund to appear in my account.

I had to call 3 times, got hung up on 2x,finally got ahold of someone who sent me a link. I filled it out and now it's under review, no clue if I will get a refund but I went to tax act and it cost 65 for both state and fed and was accepted within an hour of filing and they will take it out of your refund.

I did contact support to get more info and they were pretty combative that it was the state and then I asked this from the IRS and after that I simply said thank you and have a good night

Yes I've been with TurboTax forever but I got sick and tired of the mistakes they made last year and now I switched to TaxAct and my return was accepted within 45 minutes from the federal and the State the next day.

I was almost done filing with TurboTax but their form 8839 wasn't available because we had an adoption. I got frustrated because TaxAct they had it ready.. So I thought well since I had to wait extra months last year because TurboTax messed up on the accounts I'm going to switch after 15 years of TurboTax. File my taxes 2 days ago on tax act and was notified an hour later the federal accepted my return and the next day of my state excepted my return. That was 3 days ago. Today I checked my federal return status and it said it will be deposited in my account on the 24th. My federal return is being processed. That is crazy cool. TAXACT !!!

Yeah, for each of the experts just referring us to TT page with form availability dates, you have to know that these responses are trash and pointless. TT messed up by delaying this form repeatedly. These "expert" answers are not helping anyone.

TT, you’re going to start losing business because this is absurd. If other avenues have the form ready to go and you don’t, they’re going to be sought out and used. The date has changed multiple times now, now backed up to March 3rd. If it’s not up by Sunday, you’re about to lose another 10+ year customer, to another provider that has it together.

I switched to TaxAct, It was a pain to get everything moved over and I had already paid TurboTax so I am having to wait for a refund. You would think with people asking for refunds and calling in they would get the form out. They lost us as customer.

I'm in the process of moving everything over to tax act.. it is a pain but I don't want to wait for turbo tax to get it their stuff together

This is unacceptable.  The IRS made Form 8839 available in January.  Now it has been pushed to 3/3/22.  In addition, Schedule H was available in NOVEMBER 2021, and not scheduled for release until 3/17/22??  Something is amiss at TurboTax.  Other providers have these forms available and the IRS has accepted the returns.  I'd like someone in-the-know to respond to this thread (i.e. a Product Manager), not a CSR.

I gave up on turbo tax. Filed with tax act this morning and irs accepted already. It was easy to use and getting same back so for now on tax act will be what I use. Too bad for turbo tax they are losing a lot of bussiness

I gave Turbo/ Intuit my good byes the other day  There's nothing I hate more than paying for service/ product before I get the service. Tuit took the money out of my account 2 weeks ago, had they told me there was a hold up with certain forms I would have filed later. This company is getting worst. Good riddance Turbo.
