I did speak to customer service when the date had changed to 2/17. I was told that they could do nothing until the irs released the form to them. 2 days later it changed to 03/03. I asked why is was being held up and she replied that she didnt know what the hold up was. If anyone gets a more direct answer, please let me know.
Same story from 3 reps...exceptionally frustrating.
It is ready on tax act I just did mine there after being with tt for 8 years.
I just did mine with Tax Act after 8 years with tt because of this.
Try Tax Act I was able to do mine there. Goodbye Turbo Tax after 8 great years.
Are you able to get the advance on Tax Act?
I do not understand why TurboTax does not have this form available. I have been a customer for MANY years & really do not want to switch. However, I need to get my taxes filed.
I got sick of TurboTax customer service not answering my question on why the form isn’t available and the date being pushed out so many times that I just went to Taxact and filed my taxes last night. They have the form ready if anyone is sick of waiting. A little bit less user friendly than TurboTax, but was able to get all of my taxes done and filed within an hour and a half.
my thought exactly my girlfriend already did hers with a tax company ugh
and I pay for this waiting game?
Ok. I just spoke with the irs about form 8839. The lady told me I could download the form and mail in my taxes. I told the rep that i efile and that turbotax and other tax preparers that i have spoken with said that the irs has not released the form yet. She told me it has nothing to do with them and it has to do with their software. I'm so upset!!! Turbotax and others are failing to tell us that its their software updating the form NOT the IRS!! I have filed so many tax returns for family and friends, including mine, for over 9 years. Myself and another that i am trying to file is on hold because of software issues. Ugh.. So frustrating....
Yes, I also got the vibe that TurboTax was implying that the form wasn’t ready due to the IRS. They weren’t very clear on what the holdup was. Either way, I filed last night on TaxAct and just got an email saying the IRS just accepted my return.
I also just filed and was accepted with tax act. I’m not sure what the hold up is with turbo tax.
Is taxAct more expensive to file?
For state and federal it was about $125 for me.
