@MarilynG1 @matthew2022 bull**bleep** generic reply from the turbo tax expert. Why’s TurboTax holding people’s returns in limbo and not transmitting to the IRS for three weeks? Why don’t you answer that? I re-filed and got approved with TaxACT instantly. My initial failed submission through TurboTax is the one that got rejected because of TurboTax’s fault. Stop lying
I’m about to try that I need mines my grandbaby birthday the 19 I always have it before then.
I submitted my taxes on January 27th 2025, and it was accepted the same day. I then received a email stating my tax return is on the way on February 4th. However the check my refund status still says processing.. no idea on what the issue is. When I log into my IRS account and go to my account transcripts it says processing date February 24th 2025, so is that when I receive my return. If so why is it not updated on my return status?
Go by what is on Where's My Refund.
Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.
Due to PATH Act, the IRS holds refunds for EITC/ACTC customers until March 3.
Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
Why do some refunds take longer than others?
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
Was this ever solved?
I am in the same situation. This has never happened to me before it has never not been approved. I submitted on the 17th. I am unemployed right now and I really need my freaking money. Who do we call?!?!
I’m in the same boat. I have never had an issue with tt I have used it to my taxes since 2019 and this year i filled on 1-26-2025 and on the IRS website since 1-28 it has said received. Has not been accepted by the irs yet nor has it been rejected. Just has been sitting on received since 1-28 and im getting kind of pissed off about it.
Filed ny taxes today 2/14. Immediately rejected due to form 5695. Said IRS will not accept until 3/15! Has to do with joint tenancy? Is this just a Turbotax issue or IRS issue?
For the current IRS issues being worked on, see Known issues and solutions. This does not include the regular form updating process. The IRS updates forms throughout the season starting with the always used form, like 1040 and working their way down to the less frequent.
For TurboTax expected availability check forms availability here.
Do you know if your return will be flagged for duplicate if tt eventually files? I’m in the same boat.
I was in the same boat, filled with TT and was pending over 2 weeks, i filled thru freetax usa got approved and have a DDD for 2/20 TURBO barley tried to push mine thru on Friday and it was rejected with tt, assuming no flag and just rejexted due to duplicate tax
@mtsnowgirls2111 nothing gets flagged they just reject TurboTax’s junk since it’s a duplicate
Been 3 weeks and i still haven’t had my refund accepted. Idk if I’ll continue this service fr
There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay:
1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.
2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, Investment Credit, Energy Credits, or Business Credits. You may need to wait a few more days and check your filing status again. Please see this FAQ for additional information.
Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
Additionally, if you have Form 5695 and claiming joint occupancy, the IRS will not be accepting these returns until 3/16/25. You can see this on this IRS site. The language you see below is from Row 39 of the Tax Year 2024 spreadsheet.
Taxpayers claiming Joint Occupancy on Form 5695 will have to file via paper if filing their return before the Form 5695 schema is updated in mid-March. This temporary limitation should only impact a subsection of Form 5695 filers. For a preview of the TY24 draft form and instructions for Form 5695, please see the Draft tax forms on IRS.gov at https://www.irs.gov/draft-tax-forms. Submission of Forms 5695 that do not claim Joint Occupancy may be e-filed at the start of Processing Year 2025
