Yes, The form 7202 is available online for printing and mailing only. The form 7202, Credit for Sick Leave and Family Leave for certain Self-employed, effective April 1, 2020, applies to a leave taken between April 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 due to Covid-19..
Form 7202 can't be e-filed.
It’s not.
I filed today and because I can’t wait 8 weeks or more for a refund via paper filing, I had to remove 7202 and lose the credits so that I could efile today.
@JoannaB2: OK, I asked because @LinaJ2020 said just a few minutes ago that "As of today, the form is available for e-file. " Guess it's not! Alright, I guess I'll report back on how things go with TaxSlayer instead.
@Melysamarie: Thanks for the report. This is exactly the problem that TurboTax is creating. They keep trying to indicate that it's the IRS's problem, but it seems other software (including their own professional software) can e-file with the form as a PDF attachment just fine.
I efiled today without the 7202.
I’ll be filing an amendment in a month or so and mailing the 7202 in then & waiting the 6-8 weeks for the additional refund it generates.
Did you any issues when you removed the Form 7202 or did everything efile ok? Sometimes removing a Form messes up things elsewhere?
THANK YOU!!!! You have just saved me unlimited amounts of frustration!!! I didn't need this form and could not efile because it was attached!
No issues at all, it’s already been accepted by the IRS and my state 🙂
If you remove the form, you won't get the credit. If you are not claiming the credit, you don't need the form. @cmaggie
LinaJ2020, you just said Form 7202 is available to e-File as of today. Can you give me more information about that? I’m still getting the message that it is not available. Thanks!
It’s not in turbo tax as of this moment. I just filed with H&R and IRS accepted it. 7202 was automatic there, I didn’t need to attach anything, just answering questions as usual.
Stanleysimulya, when you filed with H&R Block were you able to use your 2019 income for Form 7202?
No, as of right now you can only use 2020 income with H&R Block for form 7202
For purposes of the Credits for Sick Leave and Family Leave for Certain Self-Employed Individuals, you are allowed to use either your 2019 self-employment income or your 2020 SE income, whichever is larger.
For purposes of the credit on Form 7202, you can make this election if your prior-year net earnings from self-employment were greater than your current year's net earnings from self-employment.
I printed off my state taxes and they let me e-file my federal. when i downloaded my tax return the 7202 form showed up as a PDF right along with the rest of my tax forms. I spoke to a TurboTax specialist who said that they don't have any information on if my taxes were sent to the IRS with the form attached as a pdf. As of right now my federal taxes have not been accepted. Even if they are accepted i don't believe that i will be using turbotax next year. They have too many problems and no solutions. We pay them good money to use their service and they don't seem to care.
any news on this? on when turbotax will efile the 7202 form..
