Thank you!
Why does it take TurboTax so long to program this simple form each year. The final version has been available on the IRS website for over a week already. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8606.pdf.
I've been a user for many years, but frustrated each year that my taxes are ready to be filed only to waiting for this form for 1 - 2 weeks when other providers like Block react realtime. I'll be looking to finally make the switch to a new tax provider next year.
Sorry but more commonly used forms get priority.
It is now Feb 12 and the form is STILL not available in the updated program. I don't understand I just checked and H & R Block has this form. Maybe I should switch
Still not available AND is NOT on even on the list to see if it's available or not... why?
Date is nor correct.
It should be available 24 hours after the IRS approves TurboTax to use the form. Currently, the IRS has not finalized the form. Here is the IRS web page to check the status of form 8606: Available Forms and Limitations. Scroll down to Form 8606.
