It is so frustrating that they are not saying ANYTHING! They took my money and they are unresponsive regarding when this form will be available for use. How do your treat your customers like this? Unfortunate.
March 31st is too far out for me to wait. Can anyone recommend an alternative, reliable tax service?
8915F was available as of the beginning of February, so when will TurboTax update their program, so we can file?
Seems like it will be available on April 19 😀
The form has been finalized and active on IRS since January. When are we going to see it integrated into Turbo Tax?
I feel like I am being held hostage. They have my money and they are completely unresponsive. I say that we all call and ask for a refund.

Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements for tax year 2021 is Estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax on 03/31/2022
This is an estimate only and could be available sooner.
Go to this TurboTax website for IRS forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_online_individual.html
I was just able to pull up the published version of this form on the IRS website. It is dated January 2022. Hopefully TurboTax can make it available using their software, soon.
It’s 02/12/22 Has 8915-F been released yet on turbotax? Thanks
@ABC601 - and the credit/compensation you get from Free Tax Social Engineers .com for going to the competition's website and trolling as a paid shill?
I am not defending Intuit, I am calling you out for the troll that you are. I am a big boy, when I don't think Intuit is a good value, I won't use them. A slight delay caused by the incompetent IRS does not sour me on Intuit in the least.
Your trolling, on the other hand, bothers me very much.
Anyone know of another tax program that already has 8915-F in it and ready to go? Longtime user of TurboTax and this delay really isn't acceptable.
Hi,
you can check out these free file partners on the IRS site: https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/browse-all-offers/
Last week someone on here mentioned FreeTaxUSA (one of the IRS free file offers through the link), because it had 8915-f available for efile. It worked for me. I already knew what my refunds should be, so I knew the end result was correct. I filed and both my federal & state returns were accepted within a couple hours, same as what usually happens when I used TurboTax. Cost me under $14 total! If you’re below a certain AGI, it would be free.
According to “Where’s my refund?” My refund is getting deposited in a couple days!!!
(and no, I am not a paid troll. I came to this forum bc i was frustrated that I couldn’t file. I wanted to find a solution and someone shared some info that helped me out, it just happened to be with a different tax service. Hopefully i can help someone else out as well! Cheers!)
If you decide to use someone other than Turbo Tax do you have to re-enter the 1099 ? I have used Turbo Tax for years. This will be my second year of having to report additional income because of my Covid 401k distribution. I chose to split the taxes due or 3 years.
How would the other program have your info or do you just answer the questions on 8915-F ? Would the IRS just look at last years info?
I think there was a way to upload last year’s return from another company, so that some info would automatically transfer. But I didn’t do that. I just entered everything for this year. I went into the retirement income section answered “no” for if I had a 1099 (bc we don’t get a new 1099 for this year), and there was a message on that screen that said something like “if you answer no, you’ll be asked about previous disaster withdrawals on the next page.” So then I entered the info, and that was that. But again, I knew what the end results should have been, so I was comfortable with it. Also I did it really quickly several days ago, so I may not be remembering every detail/screen. If you go back some pages other users posted some details about the process.
They pulled the same crap on us last year. I waited until March 12 to file my taxes. It took them around 4-8 weeks to get the form to work on the Federal level and then another 2 weeks of hell to get to work for NY. I'm seriously considering returning this incomplete software to Costco and going with H*R Bl0ck. Like they had the entire year to have a template of the code that accepts this form. Fire your Software Director ASAP! 3/31 FFS!
