Please see What is Form 8915-F Qualified 2021 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments?
Have you followed all of the steps and met the criteria listed within the Help Article to generate the form?
I have, and this is what is says:
I'm getting the same prompt as you.
@Kalianamarie It appears the IRS finalized the form within the past few days. Please allow time for it to update in our system. You can check the following Help Article for an availability date as soon as we release one: IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products
There's no 1099r for distribution from 2020. Turbo is so disappointing this year
8915-F is not listed as the forms that is coming for TT Desktop. Also we are not getting a 1099 this year for it. the 1099 we got was for Tax year 2020 when we filed the 8915-E. Is turbo tax not going to just import our info from last year return to get the new form filled out?
I think the concerning part is the form is not even listed as a form that is coming in TT Desktop 2021.
1) Is there anyway we can get some clarity on when this from is due to be in TT if at all? That way we can make alternate arrangements if needed.
2) Better guidance when the time comes on how to "invoke" this from since we will NOT have any associated 1099 for 2021 tax year for this transaction.
Thank you
@DaraLO I am aware, as it has been mentioned many times in this thread… I was just responding to MoniqueLO’s question. But, thanks anyway!!
It is showing under the search for 8915-F on IRS.gov Form: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8915f.pdf Instructions: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8915f.pdf
I have the same issue. I know it takes a bit of time once the IRS releases the form for Turbo Tax to add it the software, but given that the IRS released it last week, it seems ridiculous that the form may not be available to some time in March. There are a lot of people who cannot file without the 8915-F and Turbo Tax customers deserve a more definite answer from Turbo Tax as to when the form will be available for e-filing through Turbo Tax. Without the customers, Turbo-tax does not have a business. We should get more than vague indefinite answers on availability . I note the 8915-F is NOT listed in the form list of expected forms that various TT forum responses direct people to.
If TT cannot do this in a timely manner, why shouldn't we all switch to a different service/provider?
I think I'm switching to FreeTaxUSA, they already have the form in their system. I would only have to pay $14 for state and FREE federal. Ridiculous that Turbo wants over $100!!!
Yes, it has taken to long for TT to get this form. I just used the Free File Fillable Forms from the IRS and completed my return. My return was not especially complicated Schedules 1 & 3, multiple w-2's, forms 8962 & 8915F and of course the 1040. This was completely free and I've E-File'd. TT was not worth the $$ this year.
The form was just released, please check back as it takes a few days to update the software to include the form.
Thanks
8915-F is not even on the list! This is yet another reason why I decided to stop using Turbo Tax this year...
The form 8915-F finalized version was just released by the IRS today. Prior to that, it was available only as a draft. It may take a few days for it to be tested and updated into the TurboTax software. For more information regarding form 8915-F, please click here. [Edited: 02/07/2022 8:10PM EST]
