When will the 2020 form 6251 be uploaded into turbo tax. IRS has it available on their website. I would like to file my taxes before the stimulus package is approved

When will form 6251 be ready

I believe that Form 6251 was added in the TurboTax update that was just released this morning (2/18/21). See if you can get to it now. If not, try again later today or tomorrow morning. I don't know exactly when they update the online software.

Forms availability shows that IRS Form 6251 is available on February 18.

The IRS imposes the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) on certain taxpayers who earn a significant amount of income, but are able to eliminate most, if not all, income from taxation using deductions and credits. Although reducing your taxable income to zero is perfectly legal, the IRS uses AMT to insure everyone pays their fair share.

Many taxpayers must use IRS Form 6251 to calculate their AMT or to determine if they are subject to it.
