Go to this TurboTax website to see which federal and state forms are available for e-filing and which are not - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
I assume all the Federal.amd State forms are correct now, because the accuracy review states no errors.
When I try to efile the unable to efile due to forms or regulation message comes up, stating to go back, print the forms and mail in.
Frustrating because I've used Turbo Tax for 20 plus years and never had a issue.
I just want to know which forms stop efile, I will call TurboTax support Monday.
Thank you very much. This should help.
I am having the same issue, with the completely unhelpful error message: "You Cannot E-file These Returns. This return has certain forms that can't be e-filed, usually because of tax regulations, so you'll need to print and file by mail. For more details, select the Review tab, above, and continue through Final Review. To file by mail, select the File tab, continue, and select File by Mail."
This message is close to useless, because how am I supposed to know which form is generating the error? I have all the same forms that I have every year, nothing new, and I have always e-filed without issue. I do have a W-2 with Box 16 > Box 1 because of the way CA treats HSA contributions, but again this is true every year. I have updated the software and the forms. The advice above about repeating "Review" gives no new information.
I am suspecting a TurboTax error, not a real issue with my forms. But with such a vague error message, what can I do?
It might be that some forms are not ready for efiling yet. Here is an article you can reference that will tell you particular forms availability.
The IRS has not started accepting returns yet. When does the IRS start accepting e-filed returns?
Response not helpful. Every single one of my forms is listed as "Ready for E-file" at https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product.... So, I still have no idea while TurboTax says I canʻt e-file.
To make things worse, if I try to GIVE UP and paper file (and hence wait 3 months instead of 3 weeks for my refund), TurboTax Desktop Deluxe tells me I canʻt print my California return because "some forms are not final", but it doesnʻt tell me WHICH forms, and when I check https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product... I see that every one my of state forms is marked "Ready to E-file" and none them are stamped "not final" or anything like that. And when I click "notify me when forms are ready", it says it canʻt because I havenʻt specified which forms to notify about! LAME.
Were you able to solve that problem? because I am getting the same message.
i am having the same issue AND I HAVE USED TURBO TAX SINCE THE 1990'S AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE
I see this issue has been reported and is currently being investigated.
Can't explain it, but problem resolved itself with latest update. Couldn't explain the problem, can't explain the solution. But it is fixed and filed. Whatever.
