When will form 8396 be available? I can't file my taxes because the availability date keeps being pushed back.

Filling online and system does not tell me I have any errors. Original date was 02/03/2022 then it was 02/10/2022, and now it says 03/10/2022.

The latest forms availability chart actually shows 3/3/22 as the availability date. That chart is all you can go by.  https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_online_individual.html

Thank you, that was a typo on my part. It does list 03/03/2022 as the availability date. I am confused though as to why I can get the form online from the IRS but TurboTax says it's not available.

TurboTax must enter the form into their software and get the entry approved by the IRS before it can be released. That is why the availability in TurboTax is often delayed compared to the availability directly from the IRS.

Other tax software has form 8396 available with no issue.  I've had my information ready to file since January 25, and TurboTax says I can't file until sometime in March now.  This evening I'm retyping all my information into a certain other software program and getting it filed tonight.  The sooner you file, the less chance of tax return identity theft.
