@AnnetteB6 Unfortunately, I do not feel comfortable putting my taxes in the mail. Thats a lot of personal information. I also am paying for Turbotax to do my taxes for me so having to do the long statement that you suggest doesn't make a lot of sense. So, is this an IRS issue or a Turbotax issue? Each time I have called and talk to a Turbotax expert on the phone I have been given the run around. Some act totally clueless, and others have told me things that I don't think I should do such as unchecking the box that says I share this home and cost with someone else on form 5695 to get it to go through. Sorry but this is very frustrating. I have used Turbotax for a long as I can remember but this year has been a huge disappointment on so many levels.
I updated TurboTax 2024 successfuly on 20250401 and re-filed . I got rejected the 4th time and Turbotax now said I have to wait until April 4 2025 to re-submit. In the meantime, I noted that my under-payment penalty has increased $97 in spite I tried to file since 20250301. I already paid all the required tax by 20250114 and the under-payment penalty has increased because of the filing date keep on being delayed by the Turbotax Program.
The IRS updated the system this week to start accepting e-filed tax returns with Form 5695 Joint Occupancy. However, a processing problem still exists. To ensure the accuracy of tax returns, TurboTax is working hard to eliminate the issue. The expected resolution date is April 4, 2025.
Thanks for the answer -- it worked!!!
