What state ID value should I enter on Schedule B form 1099-INT when I have received interest from multiple/various states? Nothing is working!

I have selected single state and then the Multiple states option, but that isn't satisfying the form.

1099-int line 8 must = the total in the state allocation section.

in addition, it's your responsibility for determining whether or not the resident state muni interest is taxable in your state.
