I did print out the pages that were filed, but forgot to print out "all pages" of TT 2019 record last year and I need to review a few pages asap.
I know only TT2019 ver application can open 2019, and my Windows computer still has the application.
So, I started it. BUT TT needed to "update", so I let it update.
Then when TT 2019 app opened, it just has a "Begin" button on the above area, or "Amend" on the bottom or the button for "starting 2020"....
Same thing when I directly double-click on my "---.tax2019" file stored on another folder....
How can I open the entire record of 2019??
Or, is it impossible to review the entire pages now?? which sucks...
Thanks

A button for starting 2020 taxes indicates that is the 2020 tax program, not the 2019 tax program.
You need to check again to see that you actually have the 2019 tax program installed (sometime double-clicking on the .tax2019 tax file will not start up in the 2019 software).

Shut down whatever TTX software you have open, then Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of your desktop screen...then scroll down the pop-up list to see if TurboTax 2019 is down in the "T"'s. IF it is, open 2019 tax software from there. IF it isn't there, then you don't have the 2019 software installed.
Hi Steam Train,
Thank you. yes I needed to open 2020 for 2019 filing, sorry.
and I could open the file I needed to review.
Thanks.
I first opened TT application and then searched and opened my saved **.tax2019 from the app. I wonder why the app doesn't automatically load the file...
WOW..I did get confused / and waaaaay off track as to whether you were attempting to open a 2020 or 2019 tax file.....(or did you change the text in your question?)

True...you can only read the pages of a 2019 file with the full 2019 software...you can only read the pages of a 2020 file with the full 2020 software

....a newly-installed tax software package does not automatically know a tax file exists already, until you browse to it and open it once.

I moved tons of files for several years taxes , to a a couple of new computers (I've created a lot of test files for different situations)...but I've always had to browse to them and save them once, so that the newly installed tax software keeps track of the file on it's own from that point in time, on. (As long as I don't move the files elsewhere outside of the program's Save functions)
