Unemployed, No Income

I was unemployed for 4 years with $0 income.  It was my understanding I did not need to file tax returns.  Is this correct?

Unemployed, No Income

Hi! I'm a TurboTax Live CPA. That is correct however if you had any witholding paid on your unemployment you would need to file a return in order to claim that.

Unemployed, No Income

If you have had no income at all then you are not required to file a tax return.   Is there someone else who can claim you as a dependent?   How are you supported?

Who has to file?
