Unable to transfer from tax2018 file or open it with 2018 TT version

Started doing my 2019 taxes, and as usual transferred everything from my last year's file.  It says everything transferred successfully, but none of the info actually gets transferred. I have to enter all the usual personal info again.  Which means none of the previous years financial details, carryovers, etc got transferred either.

I tried opening the 2018 file with the 2018 TurboTax version that I used to create it, and I get this message

The document "********** 18.tax2018" has the wrong tax year or some other issue that prevents us from opening it.  Please make sure you have the right file and try again.

I've installed all the updates and haven't touched that file since April of last year.  I do taxes for a couple of other family members, too, and I'm not having the same problem with their transfers or opening last year's files.  Just this one.  All of them live on the same computer.

Any ideas on how I can repair or recover last year's file?

Are you signing in with the same user ID that you used last year? Your email might be tied to multiple IDs.
