In 2023 I used Turbotax Deluxe desktop and was able to add details for an entry by using a right click. In 2024 Trubotax Premiere I and unable to add details. Right click does nothing. I receive tax-free state dividends from multiple securities for my state of residence, each with a different percentage of the dividend being tax-free. Using the add detail in prior versions, I could account for each of the securities and the percentage. I'm forced to enter a separate line for each state tax-free amount. In my case, I had to enter six lines all for Maryland, each representing a different security and or US territory. In Maryland, income from Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam are Maryland tax-free. The multiple line approach works, but I cannot identify either the reason for each entry or the percentage of dividends which are tax-free. Both were available to me though adding details in prior versions. Bring back the add details capability.

Yes, being able to record supporting details is a helpful feature. I have found that I can still right-click, or click the "+" sign, on entries in the Worksheets in Desktop versions of TurboTax to get the pop-up worksheet to Add Supporting Details, once you get to the originating worksheet (such as the Form 1099-DIV worksheet). See screenshot below.
It's in the actual tax forms that you can only get the magnifying glass to trace the source of a line item, or right-click and get the About/On Demand Tax Guidance information.
There are parts of Turbotax 2023 that supported right click to add supporting details that are not available in the 2024 program. To be more specific, the right-click menu is not available. Some sections of the Turbotax desktop product support it, others do not. It is not currently supported in the areas I identified, in the software I currently have downloaded and installed. My version is up-to-date. I can open the 2023 version of Turbotax on the same PC and access the add supported details from the areas that the 2024 version does not support.
Your attachment reference a different section of the product. This is not the 'bug' I identified. I'm referring to the entry of dividends from US government securities, which appears on a separate form, not box 1A. The inability to access the right-click menu also occurs on the form used to enter tax-free income by state.
