Turbotax is not accepting my Stash account

If you are trying to import and it is giving you an error, you can enter your 1099-DIV or 1099-B which you may have received manually.

Form 1099-DIV reports dividend income you received from your investments. To enter this in TurboTax Online Manually please follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to TurboTax and open a section of your return.
2. Search for 1099-DIV and select the Jump to link in your search results.
3. Answer Yes to Did you receive any dividend income?
4. Choose your bank or brokerage from the list to import your 1099-DIV and select Continue. If you'd rather manually enter your 1099-DIV, select Change how I enter my form, then Type it in myself.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your 1099-DIV.

Capital gains will be reported on Form 1099-B. Please visit 1099-B Input Instructions for more information. 

Additionally, if the documents issued by Stash use Apex Clearing, you can try importing your documents by selecting Apex Clearing instead of Stash. The account number on the Tax Form 1099 will be your user name and your social security or tax payer Id number will be the password.

I have same, or similar issue. Every time I try logging in on either Stash or Apex Clearing Corp, it returns "That didn’t work. Try signing in again. (103)". Have tried with and without 10 in front of the account number, have tried with and without dashes, and cannot login. Any suggestions as to why it is not logging in?

Stash is not one of our import partners. You will not be able to import your files. Instead, you can manually type in a summary. You can enter 4 lines and cover the entire form.

Enter the totals for each:

• short term covered
• short term non-covered
• long term covered
• long term non-covered

When you enter summary data only,  you are required to send a copy of your 1099B to the IRS. Once you submit your electronic copy, TurboTax prints out a cover letter and instructions on where to send a copy of your 1099B.

Here's where you enter your 1099-B in TurboTax:

1. Open (or continue) your return if it isn't already open
2. Select the magnifying glass, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results
3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2021?
   • If you see Your investment sales summary, select Add More Sales
4. On the OK, let's start with one investment type screen, select the category that applies to your situation and Continue
5. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
6. At Let's get your tax info, choose to type it in yourself
7. Answer the questions about your 1099-B

Form 1099-B is included in TurboTax Premier, TurboTax Live Premier, Self-Employed, and TurboTax Live Self-Employed (online) and in all personal CD/Download versions of TurboTax.

I don't mean to sound rude, but either TurboTax does, which I did import previously, or the import from Stash, and Apex Clearing Corp, should be removed from the let's import section.

As you can see Apex is even from my past TurboTax use, and yes I imported it in last year.

Anyway, I entered my information in manually, but it is a shame the program is busted and says you can import.
