I only found out about It's Deductible being discontinued today when I went in to enter the last donation of the year. I looked through my emails and was never notified of the discontinuation. Is this because I was only using It's Deductible and not TurboTax? I could not get in touch with anyone in Customer Support because I don't have a paid product in my account.  After much digging, I found the information on this thread about requesting a data request of my 2025 entries.  In the meantime, I have contacted local media, the BBB, my state attorney general and posted on X. The fact that you cannot speak to someone about a concern, didn't receive notification to the email associated with the account and cannot access historical information is a big concern for any company, especially a large company like Intuit. If I am unable to get my data entered for 2025, I will be pursuing additional options. Depending on how this is resolved, I would be hesitant to ever use Intuit again.

@Jillkins9 so apparently you weren't paying for anything here... the service only had 100k users out of 40mil returns so they made a business decision to stop the service, apparently not worth their while especially if people were just using it for free - this was announced about 4 months ago and the site has been shut down for 2 months now.

 

you should be able to request your data privacy download to get your data, it may take up to 15 days to process.

I have been a long time TurboTax user through 2018 when I had to start using a CPA.  I continued to use TurboTax for my son's return.  I planned to return to TurboTax once my CPA needs were complete. Also, the whole point of TurboTax offering It's Deductible as a free service was to entice people to use TurboTax, a sound marketing strategy. I have a sign-in account with Intuit, my issue is with them not notifying me of the change via my account email and I am uncertain if I will be able to recover my entries.  And, there is already quite a bit of interest from those I have reached out to.  Thank you for your input.

Yes, I have requested my information and hoping they come through.  I was a long time customer through 2018 when I had to switch over to a CPA. I continued to file my son's taxes through TurboTax.  My issue is I never received any communication, only marketing emails.

I stated I don't currently have a paid product in my account.  Doesn't mean I haven't been a long time customer or that I wasn't planning to used TurboTax for 2025 returns.

fwiw if you can't reach support you can lodge a complaint here to the Office of the President

they sent out an offer for 30% off various online services (not desktop), that's probably the most you'll get out of this.

 

the data download says up to 15 days to process, I got mine in 6 days when I tried it and it certainly had my ID data from 2014 which was the last time I used this thing, so you should be able to get your data back.

 

if you need alternative service there are many that have popped up many months back when this was announced, here is the current list.  Deductible Duck seemed to have a lot of early traction migrating ID users into their service.  Probably not going to be free tho.

As a recap of our conversation, we reviewed the discontinuation of the Its Deductible product and the frustration this has caused, particularly given your need to track multiple charitable contribution transactions and prepare for upcoming tax law changes. I acknowledged your feedback and confirmed that your concerns will be escalated to Intuit leadership for visibility and review. At this time, I advised that there is no alternative deductible tracking solution currently available. You also shared that, due to this change, you are considering using a different tax preparer that continues to offer a similar feature.

If you need assistance in the future, please contact TurboTax Customer Support at 1-800-446-8848. Since your concerns have been addressed and documented, we will proceed with closing your case.

Yes, NOT FROM INTUIT. Of course, there are other tracking solutions available from other developers.

 

For whatever reason, someone in authority here chose to delete the links to those solutions. Not sure why they would delete links to mostly free products that they no longer offer.
