turbotax Form 8889-SA message on login

Each time I log in,  there is a message posted...   here's a breakdown of forms that weren't available for filing the last time you used turbotax Form 8889-SA and when they will be ready.

Then it says form 8889-SA ready to file.

Why do I get this each time I log in,  do I need to do anything?

Please see the response here from Lina:

It seems to me somehow when you answered the questions, there was indication your spouse needed to file the Form 8889.  If this form does not apply to her, you can simply remove it from the program.  Here are the steps:

1.  Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off

2.  Select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow

3.  Select Tools

4.  Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form

5.  Select Delete next to Form 8889-s and Continue with My Return

If you are the beneficiary of a health savings account (HSA), the IRS requires you to prepare Form 8889 with your tax return before you can deduct your contributions to the account. The purpose of the form is to report your deductible contributions, calculate the deduction, report the distributions you take to pay medical expenses and to calculate the tax you must pay on withdrawals you make for non-medical related purposes.  To learn more, click here: Form 8889

turbotax Form 8889-SA message on login

My spouse does have info on her 8889-S so I do not think I should delete it.

Let me type exactly how the message appears:

What product (Deluxe, Premier, etc), what service (Online, CD/download), and what platform (Windows/Mac) are you using?

Does your spouse have an HSA? If so, then you definitely do NOT want to delete the 8889-S.

The 8889 has been ready since January. I don't see any reason why even the draft copy from January wouldn't work just fine - the form has not changed from last year anyway.

Go ahead and ignore the message and file.

So,  it sounds like the message is one that Turbotax posts when the product does not have the latest form.   That makes me feel better.    I did review the forms and they are correct.   My spouse definitely has an HSA.

I feel comfortable filing,  thank you.
