Hey guys,
I finally found out what's going on. I downloaded 1099B form from chase account and saw that it's actually from "JP Morgan Securities"! I thought mine belongs to Chase because this brokerage account is on the same page with my Chase bank accounts but it turns out not. So please check the top page of your 1099B form to see where your brokerage account is located at. I was able to connect TurboTax with JP Morgan Securities with my chase.com login ID.
Good luck!
It showed "not available" when I selected "J. P. Morgan Securities" on 02/17. However, I got it worked this morning. So, be sure to select "J. P. Morgan Securities" in the list instead of entering "Chase Investments". It worked.
Using JP Morgan Securities worked for me. Just needed to follow instructions on TurboTax screens.
Still need chase for interest. I’ll check out JP Morgan for the stock stuff! Thanks
Also a Chase Private Client, I just tried to download my tax forms from Chase, and it didn't work - TurboTax software said that this part of their software was not working now, try again later. In previous years, this worked in TurboTax but I entered CHASE INVESTMENTS, and not CHASE BANK. This year, CHASE INVESTMENTS is not listed.
Is anyone working on this?
Try to select "J. P. Morgan Securities" in the list. It is available on 02/19 and works perfectly.
Thank you so very much for pointing me to J.P. Morgan Investments instead of Chase. I followed your advice and it worked perfectly. I had called Turbo-Tax support and they were unable to help me the way you did. Thanks again.
Please see this Help Article for more details on this issue we are currently working to resolve.
I agree and bring IT back to the states.
I'm using the download and can't get it to generate the activation code required to download JP Morgan Securities. I called and the rep was very nice but this is a tech issue. Anyone found a way around this?
I've raised this issue a few times over the past several days and it has not been addressed by TurboTax. The Get Identification Code button does not work! There is no link.
I used JP Morgan Securities this year whereas last year, it was Chase Investments. It worked for me. Here's the exact drill:
When I hit the "Get Activation Code", it took me to the Chase Website, where I logged in. Upon login, the Chase site took me to their "Get Activation Code", where I specified to send the code to my cellphone via text. Chase sent me that code, and I entered it into the TurboTax page along with my Chase username and password. Then everything downloaded successfully.
If you are not seeing a "Get Your Identification Code" link or if the link does not work, try opening a browser window and go to: https://secure.chase.com/web/auth/?LOB=TurboTaxLogon (it may redirect you but you will eventually see a Chase login prompt which will then you give you options to have the code sent to your mobile device or your email address). Such code needs to be used within 30 minutes. You will also get a subsequent email indicating that your account was linked to import tax forms.
Thank you, finally a user helped me. No idea what all this so called TurboTax specialists are doing!
