TurboTax 2021 and MacOS on M1 chip

I am running TurboTax 2021 Deluxe on an M1 Mac mini.  Apple tech support suggested installing Rosetta and reinstalling Turbotax software, worked perfectly.  I was able to complete my taxes and e-file.

No it doesn't. Not on my mac mini anyway

Asside from TT not supporting a required Foreign Tax Credit form, and having an error in copying 2020 California Estimated Taxes into the 2021 app, I had no problem filing (by mail) by 2021 taxes from the output of TT Delux on my 2020 Mac mini (M1) running OS X 12.1

Rosetta is required as it is not Apple Silicon-native.

It runs fine on my Mac mini M1 and Mac Studio M1 Max.

I imagine they will make a Universal version for 2022 that runs on both Intel Macs as well as runs natively on Apple Silicon.  I'm not sure how much longer Apple will continue having Rosetta in macOS.  I imagine they will stop supporting Intel-based apps in 2-3 years.

Hopefully Intuit makes the 2022 version Apple Silicon-native/Universal.  It will run better (less CPU resources and less battery usage for those on laptops).  For now, the current Intel-based version is acceptable with Rosetta.

what you two above say matches my experience just today 1/30/23 with a brand new Mac Airbook with M2 chip running OS Ventura (13.2) - the tech support tier 1 person didnt' know anything about it. I finally figured out by reading Intuit's system requirements more closely they support Big Sur and after but they aren't saying anything about silicon chips - Turbotax is still requiring the Rosetta app which slows down performance in order to run TurboTax desktop Home and Business - those of you who are saying it works fine without mentioning the immediate prompt to download and install Rosetta are missing that fact. Sounds like we can get by...

... FYI I've downloaded again, didn't find the crash file fortunately, and had a pretty quick easy download of Rosetta and am running the Turbotax Mac Home and Business 2022 product. So far doing ok, though I'd much rather it ran as native software with the silicon chip. Obviously this will be ideal. Intuit however has had a hard time prioritizing macs - by 2022 I don't understand why.
