It Worked!!!!!
Thanks to all for the assistance resolving the issue. It's very strange to sign-out of Windows, create a new user and then download TurboTax. Then, sign-out of the new user and open the old user and poof, it works.
There's nothing quite like going around one's butt to get to their elbow...LOL
Yea.. I have given up on TT and windows 11
You are asking customers to turn off Windows Defender in order to install software?! That is unacceptable. I hope Intuit will fix the download issue so customers can download it in a conventional way without having to make a half dozen adjustments to their systems. I up to date on Windows software and over 800 mps download speed. Turbotax Premier won't download.
February 1 and Intuit has not managed to fix the download issue. Not good. May need to look at other products.
I have to say that while I could not install turbotax 2024 on my desktop running windows 11 pro, even after creating a new user and all, I was able to install it on my windows 11 pro laptop with no trouble. So, I'm running it using remote software from my desktop. There may be a problem with where the install software is putting the msi install file, because the error shown during the attempted install is that either the msi install file is not there, or it is inaccessible even though it is there. I checked, and the msi install file was where it was supposed to be, but it could not be accessed to do the actual install of the software.
let me know if Turbotax has resolved the issue
In Windows 11, you may need to switch out of S mode, which only allows downloads from the Microsoft store.
Here's How to Switch Out of 'S' Mode for Windows 11.
My desktop is not running windows 11 pro in S mode.
We have been beating our brains out over this installation for days. We fixed it. We left our Norton360 default configured with firewall up and program access configured to let turbo go thru it. Finally about to give up I recycled my DSL modem router. It would appear this cleared the DNS cache in it. We opened the program went straight to the login pages and the license config. Program works no problems. Anybody running cable modems or dsl should check this out. On your pc try this cmd line for the local pc
Hope this works for Ya'll
Clearing the DNS cache and rebooting did not solve my turbotax installation issue.
Did you reboot your internet access device? DSL or Cable modems. Just reboot of the pc does not clear all areas or running the cmd line flushdns. Like most things in Windows some work some don't. Quess I was just lucky. I mostly operate in Linux systems. Use Windows when I have to. Have not tried to run turbotax online in Chrome or Edge on my Linux installtions, maybe next year will try it.
Sorry it did not work for your problem
