You can't even amend yet in California as TT does not have it available..
I'm hoping that they don't, I didn't know about the second page of the 1040 so I just called and talked to a very sweet lady that was more than willing to help.
She looked up my return, said that they have received the fax I sent over and it can take up to 6 weeks from the day I faxed it. She also said all I needed to send in was the forms that were asked for, so I'm hoping that's the case and they won't hold it up even longer because of this.
Please see the TurboTax FAQ below regarding the 1095-A form:
The IRS is requesting Form 8962 for 2019
I just called to ask about the fax I sent in but she told me that it was impossible for her to tell me that information. She told me to wait the 8 weeks for processing. I guess they don't know how to use a computer to look up my information.
I'm thinking class action suit. Who's with me?
I’m trying to enter my 1095-C. I don’t have a 1095-A!
Yeah, I got that from the 15 times it was posted on this thread.
I read that and that was actually why I called the IRS in the first place, she said even though my refund amount changed that I shouldn't need to fax in the page 2 of my 1040 and that the information I faxed over last week was received and being processed on my account.
That's crazy and crap! The lady I spoke with said it should take about 6 weeks after they received my fax and she told me that they had indeed received my fax. She's the first person to actually look into my account, the last two times I called when referencing the original letter never asked for my social.
You have never had to enter the 1095-B or 1095-C in the program ... you have nothing to enter unless you get a 1095-A from the Marketplace.
Wasn't prompted to enter 1095-A, just like everyone else is saying. Sure, there's a section for it if you know what you're looking for, but every other year it has prompted asking if you have a 1095-A to enter. Now I have to wait another 6-8 weeks because TT didn't bother to prompt asking if you have a 1095-A when it still applies to hundreds of thousands or millions of people.
TurboTax changed the location for the entry of the Form 1095-A when Congress lowered the penalty for not having health insurance to $0.00.
If you do get a 12C letter from the IRS asking for your Form 1095A and Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit, follow these instructions:
Hell they already have one against them right now, you'd think they'd be dotting their I's and crossing their T's!
TurboTax asks if you have Form 1095-A under the Deductions & Credits tab on the line Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A). When this tab is selected you will be asked to enter your Form 1095-A information. TurboTax will complete Form 8962 using the Form 1095-A information you entered.

leonard. It never asked. Are you reading that this problem is encountered by THOUSANDS on turbo tax. It could not have been explicit enough if this many people have encountered this error. Dust off your resume. Turbo tax is going to get sued, boy.
